Kiss her forehead. There is nothing that says caring the way a simple kiss to her forehead does. It reminds us of comfort and love. Its a kiss that says we can count on you, and that you'll be there for us.
Move our hair away from our face. This says you not only love us, but you see us through rose colored glasses....perfection in your eyes. With one simply act, you see more of our face and the gesture says that you think we are beautiful. I had an ex that would always do this when we were talking, one finger..gently moving my hair back from my face...I have rarely had anyone look at me with as much love in their eyes as he did every time he did this.
Hold our hand. Just the simple act of holding our small hand in your big one makes us feel safe. You are our protector..and by holding our hand, you tell not only us, but everyone else..that we are with you. You may not think of the significance of holding hands, but it is in fact, a very intimate gesture. We know that if you are holding our hand, that you won't let any harm come to us, we are in your care.
A hand on the small of our back. This is a way of gently guiding us through a crowd, its a possessive gesture that lets us know that you are showing other males that we are with you. A hand on that sensitive spot on a woman's back, is a way of telling everyone else to back off..she is with me. Its amazing how we respond to this...almost instantly, we move as we are guided by our lover. Our body responds on cue, because we know its a loving gesture.
They say that a picture says a thousand words...but so does a simple touch. Its a small moment between two people that reminds them of a big love.

Exactly. :> And for a man, the feeling of protecting, of "covering" our woman is just as intense. Its a mutual thing. We do it because we love you, you respond because you know it, your response says I love you back. It builds on itself and is AWESOME.

ReplyDeleteOh, and all you manly man's men out there? It doesn't take a Zombie Apocalypse to know when a thoughtful, genuinely affectionate gesture is in order.
